Our Swimming Program

At ProSwim Academy, we are committed to providing every student with a sophisticated and personalised roadmap for aquatic success. Our curriculum is expertly aligned with the STA Learn to Swim Programme, offering an inclusive and prestigious framework that emphasises safety, self-assurance, and technical mastery. This comprehensive educational journey transitions participants from their initial introduction to the water through to the mastery of elite techniques, consistently prioritising aquatic security and a refined appreciation for the sport.

Our teaching approach allows each swimmer to progress at their own pace. Through clear stages, regular milestones and supportive coaching, swimmers build the skills they need to feel safe and independent in the water. The STA framework also introduces a range of aquatic activities, helping swimmers discover new sports and develop a long‑term love of the pool.

Summary of STA  Levels

The STA Learn to Swim pathway includes seven progressive levels. Each level builds on the last, reinforcing key skills and celebrating every achievement along the way.

Grade 1 – Establishing Aquatic Comfort
Swimmers focus on getting comfortable in the water. They learn safe entry and exit, basic movement, buoyancy and the foundations of swimming.

Grade 2 – Cultivating Autonomy
Swimmers begin to move more independently. They work on swimming further distances, improving floating positions, basic strokes, breathing and core water safety.

Grade 3 – Advancing Technical Skill
Swimmers start to show stronger technique and control. The focus is on more consistent strokes, simple underwater skills and making safe choices in and around the pool.

Grade 4 – Refining Form and Safety Protocols
At this stage, swimmers refine stroke efficiency and build stamina. They are introduced to more complex skills, including basic rescue awareness and lifesaving concepts.

Grade 5 – Enhancing Power and Endurance
Training focuses on stronger, more efficient strokes, longer distances, basic diving and essential survival skills. Swimmers become more resilient and capable in the water.

Grade 6 – Transitioning to Elite Swimming
Students develop higher levels of control and precision. They work on advanced techniques and emergency responses, preparing for more specialized swimming opportunities.

Grade 7 – Achieving Versatile Mastery
The final level produces confident, well‑rounded swimmers. Graduates have excellent stamina, strong safety awareness and the skills to join clubs or enjoy a wide range of water‑based activities.

Rockhopper Series – Inclusivity for All Swimmers

We believe swimming should be accessible to everyone. For swimmers with Additional Support Needs (ASN), we offer the STA Rockhopper Series – a tailored programme designed to build confidence, strength and vital water safety skills.

The Rockhopper pathway provides a supportive, flexible environment where each swimmer works towards personal goals. Lessons are adapted to individual needs so every student can enjoy the water safely, grow their independence and feel proud of their progress.

Beyond Standard Instruction

Our goal at ProSwim Academy is to do more than teach the basics. We want every swimmer to leave us feeling confident, safe and capable in the water. Whether you are just starting out, moving through the STA levels or preparing for higher‑level swimming, we are here to support you at every stage.
